ZAGLAB

Our two engineers Bastien Saillard and Nicolas Périer design our skis in the ZAG Lab located in Chamonix with the goal of satisfying the many tastes of our customers. Always hungry to improve, they spend their time studying innovative shapes, materials, and constructions.

We are compelled to endlessly innovate by creating skis that are increasingly intuitive, comfortable, high performing, and that provide skiers with a unique riding experience.
Bastien Saillard, Director of Research and Development

The ZAG LAB allows our engineers to create prototypes in record time, and its prime location in Chamonix lets us test them right away and make improvements accordingly. To create our all-mountain range (H PATROL), for example, the team was able to test the skis on all types of snow in order to develop a new and versatile range dedicated to resort skiing.

This connection to nature pushes ZAG’s R&D team to create products that are respectful to the environment, especially through the use of new materials or designs. The ZAGREEN Program represents ZAG’s commitment to sustainability.

  • HALF CAP
    HALF CAP -
Forces transmission is facilitated by our half cap sandwich construction, which also procures more grip on harder snows. The ABS sidewalls design on the sides make the skis live longer by increasing shock absorption and bring an extra layer against the cold.
  • 3D CAP
    3D CAP -
This is our lighter sandwich construction concept. ABS caps are not present on these skis but it's still waterproof : the topsheet and fiber are recovering the edges to assure a long life to the skis.
  • STRAIGHT SIDEWALL
    STRAIGHT SIDEWALL -
The straight sidewall's construction facilitates forces transmission all along the skis.

  • HEAVY DUTY
    HEAVY DUTY -
The best compromise between stiffness in flexion and torsion. Composed of a double layer multiaxial fiberglass, the objective is to make skis effective in all types of snow. From the legendary H-112, having proven these to the feet of our best riders, the Heavy Duty construction gives skiers reliability and maximum safety. Lightweight, for more off-road flotation, but rigid,...
  • HEAVY DUTY LIGHT
    HEAVY DUTY LIGHT -
Lightness and power to hit the slopes and the large fields of fresh snow. This construction uses multi-axial fiberglass, increasing the skiability and power of the ski by providing stiffness in torsion and flexion. The goal is also to reduce the final weight of these skis to XXL sizes, hence the presence in the wood core of paulownia, for lightness, in addition to the poplar...
  • LIGHT
    LIGHT -
One goal: to allow skiers to have a light and comfortable ski in all snow. This result is achieved through the combination of glass and carbon fibers, making the Freerando skis twice as stiff in torsion. The paulownia wood core allows you to fetch a few extra grams, without affecting the touch of snow and the resistance in time of the material, as could a foam core. ABS side...
  • EXTRA LIGHT
    EXTRA LIGHT -
The perfect combination to procure lightness and comfort, while having a rigid construction at the same time in torsion and flexion, with exemplary reliability. The perfect mechanical characteristics for ski touring! This construction is therefore quite naturally in Adret 81, Adret 88 and Adret 88 Lady. High Modulus (HM) and High Resistance (HR) carbon fibers give the ski th...

COMFORTABLE AND HIGH-PERFORMING SKIS

Nicolas Perier

With our concept store at the foot of Grands Montets, our playground is in our backyard. Being so connected with the environment is a true source of inspiration. This is what allows us to create such comfortable and high-performing skis.

  • FLEX
    FLEX -
ZAG skis are developed with a flexible front flex to absorb vibrations. The rear, on the other hand, will be steeper to facilitate curve exits.
  • TORSION
    TORSION -
ZAG skis have a general moderate torsion that brings an excellent compromise between grip on the hard snow and comfort in any ground.
  • MULTI-RADIUS SHAPE
    MULTI-RADIUS SHAPE -
Drawing technic that provides us to change the radius in several independents zones (tip, center, tail). it brings the radius much shorter underfoot (increased handling) whilst keeping tips and tail tolerance for the hardest snow.
  • 5 POINT SHAPE
    5 POINT SHAPE -
Specific shape technic that enables us to increase the manoeuvrability of the ski without extend too much the rocker (which can bring some vibrations). Feature based on the variation of the lengthwise from the widest points of the ski: we gather the widest points as close as possible of the center to make the ski playful and turn easily.
